1841 James Chadwick, Manchester
« on: Tuesday 22 November 05 09:58 GMT (UK) »
Could someone please do a look up on Manchester 107/0571/6/~F5, I am looking for James and Mary Chadwick (both born c 1817)and family.  I am interested in an address as I am trying to trace James' father who was probably Grundy Chadwick living in Manchester at  the same time.
Thank you in anticipation

Hi Val

No Chadwick's on Folio 5 but found these on Folio 3.

Jas Chadwick 25, Ag Lab, N (Not born in county)
Mary 25, N
Jno 6, N
Jas 2, No
Mary Stevenson 36, Ind, N

Looks like Granby Road, the next listing is Chorlton Street.

Hope this helps.

Sheila

Thanks for the census info, Sheila.  It certainly gives me more food for thought. I wonder if Mary Stevenson is a lodger or a relative?  I was pretty sure that  all the family  were born in the Bolton/Farnworth area.  I wonder if. as newcomers to the area they were considered  "foreign" to the county?......
I will press on. Thanks again
