hmmm... he would have been around 41 at the start of the great war so easily recruitable especially if he was ex-army, border regiments would be favourite

I'll check SDGW later tonight (unless there are any other volunteers before then)

Your Edward the butcher is approx. the right age but at the present I have no other info on him, so I will keep searching for something, thanks for your help.

there's no Edward Stanley Graham in sdgw, there are 16 Edward  Grahams but none having a cumbrian origin  :(

i'll have a further think about it

Here are the memorials from Kirklinton Churchyard - quite a few Grahams here - you might want to look through them and see if any are yours!! there's nothing on the Great War memorial for any Grahams
