Hi Angela. I wasn't sure if I'd get a response to my post as it's been so long since this thread was posted to, so it's lovely to hear from you! You seem to have the same problem I do, with all the family members that might have known something being long gone. The Patterson/Pattison thing does make things complicated for you research-wise. It's wonderful that the photo of the shop has survived, though. I'm afraid I don't know very much at all about Hardy Terrace, except that it was also their family home (parents were still there in an earlier census), though I did manage to find and "screenshot" some newspaper adverts relating to the business.
