He later changed his name to Jolien Henri Walters (for whatever reason, I dont know)

I'm somewhat confused - Are you looking for  information on Walters or Maheeny? I've done a lot of research on Irish Walter(s) and varriations of the name. I've never run into the surname Maheeny before.

Maybe too simplistic - but could it be that in an index you have seen somewhere, there is a 'Walters, Julien Henry'? Meaning, they put the surname first, followed by the forenames - which is surely the usual way of indexing surnames?

It seems to me both sets of names you have are one and the same.
