It looks an interesting Site Stacey, - many thanks.

I am particularly interested in finding any old photos showing 'Y Plas', formerly known as 'Allt-y-Screch', in Llangyfelach Road. My late father's family lived there from 1919 - 1932.

Romilly.

Yes, thanks for those Stacey.

I have the Richards at 'Y Plas' on the 1911 Census.

I know from my late father's WW1 RNR Service Record that my Wilson family moved to 'Y Plas' in February 1919, although my Grandfather, William James Wilson, continued to run 'Wilson & Co' from 93 St Helens Road.

If I remember correctly, William Williams committed suicide at 'Y Plas'; which is rather strange, because my father youngest brother, Archibald Wilson committed suicide there also, in 1930, when he was 26.

Good Morning All,

Another potential source of photographs of Swansea might be: www(dot)swansea-your-story(dot)org/about-swansea-your-story/

They are currently exibiting photographs on the two public galleries of The Grand Theatre, Swansea; of Swansea taken over the past 175 years [since the development of  photography].  see here. The exibition closes this coming Friday 07/02/2014.

It might be that Swansea-your-story(dot)org might be a source of images of interest.

Regards, JohnG_Swansea.
