Ship manifest S.S Haverford Liverpool 1904
« on: Friday 18 November 05 16:47 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for the passenger list of the S.S Haverford sailing from Liverpool and arriving in Philadelphia 11 September 1904.

I have some information about my Grandfather Girolomo Gentile sailing on the ship but I would like to see the manifest if possible any ideas where it might be accessed.

You'll have to get this on microfilm. For a complete list of film numbers for ships going to PA
after 1820, see

http://olivetreegenealogy.com/ships/filmnos_pa.shtml

Find the film you need and write down the NARA or Family History Centre film number you need.

Then you can order the film in to your nearest FHC or have NARA do the lookup for you.

You could also get it online on Ancestry.com If you want to take a free trial for those ships lists, see

HI Annie,

That certainly looks like him. Where did you get the information from? I am trying to trace his birth place in Italy.
He was living in Chester up to then and I pick him up in 1910 with my grandmother who he married later. Is there a ships manifest which might show place of birth?

Thanks for the help

Hi George !

Don't talk to me about Italians - I'm looking for one myself!!!! ::)
You might get some ideas from the NARA site - if you find him on any census it should say if he is Naturalised or is a Citizen or not - if he is - you may be able to get his papers!

Just a thought!

Hi Annie,

Girolomo Gentile my Grandfather said he was a British subject in 1901, the only problem was that he forgot to tell the British Government. I have searched the National Archives and had someone double check and there is no records, He came into the country about 1888, and in 1892 married a Dewsbury girl Annie Taylor under the name of John Taylor, he then went on to marry my grandmother in Oswestry well I think if he wasn't already married.
