Dublin Cemetery Look up or information
« on: Thursday 17 November 05 23:34 GMT (UK) »
I finally found the information my MIL had from her Robinson side of the family.  Does anyone have access to the cemetery called Mount Jerome, Harold's Cross, Dublin, Ireland?  Sinclair Alexander Robinson and his wife, Annie Gray are buried there.  Or is there a way to contact this cemetery and see if their headstones have birth dates/years?

Also, does anyone know know where Brighton Square in Rathgar..part of Dublin is?  A letter from my husband's uncle said Mrs. Sinclair Robinson lived there.

Thanks in advance for any leads or help.

Thank you so much for the information.  It's much appreciated.  I knew that this cemetery was now owned by this company, but couldn't find any info.

Thanks for your message, glad to be of service.
Any other queries or problems at the moment?
I looked for a  map of Rathgar. This map looks interesting. Rathgar and Brighton Square may well be on it. I had a quick look, however as I am moving through queries rapidly did not devote the time to find Brighton Square. If you require another map try a Google search for Online Maps Rathgar Dublin

Good Luck, Chris

I could use some help with some math..lol.  My husband's grandfather William Stewart was born 29 Nov 1896 in Dublin, Dublin, Ireland.  He was part of a confectioner business which my husband's uncles still run to this day.  William's father is a Sinclair Alexander Robinson with a death date of 9 jul 1925 buried in the cemetery above.

However; I find a William Robinson in the 1850 Shaw's directory on the same street..Capel St in the same business.  I have a William Robertson in the 1841 directory on the same street in the same business.  I have come to the conclusion that this William is possibly the father of Sinclair Alexander, but without having the date of birth, it's hard to tell.

How do you gauge ages from this kind of information?   I can guess Sinclair's birth if you take about 20 years from his marriage date of 1893 to possibly 1870's.  But, what does that make this William's age to be if he is both in the 1841 and 1850 directories.  (Family lore is that the name was Robertson before it was changed to Robinson)  Or..am I just making it harder than it is?
