Thank you for that. I know that after Arthur's first wife Anne died he remarried to someone called Johanne. They went onto have 8 children, three of whom survived to adulthood.
I hadn't seen the godparents of Arthur's first child, Anthony, b.1572 before - the fact that Anthony Elton, gent, definitely one of the "posh" Eltons, was a Godfather is interesting. Arthur and Anthony must have been a similar age and I can't see that the posh Elton would want to be the Godfather to the son of someone he knew was illegitimate, but he well might to a distantly related kinsman's son.
