Irish (surname) family of Frimley
« on: Monday 14 November 05 11:42 GMT (UK) »
Hi  can anyone find any further info on the Irish family of Frimley - I believe there were 4 brothers Henry born 1803, Robert born 1806, Marmaduke born 1811 and Edwin Charles born 1815 all in Frimley Surrey - I have found them in the census returns from 1851 onwards but would love any earlier information about this family - particularly who their parents were and if there were any other siblings

Many Thanks for any help

Hi Debbie,
From the LDS IG Index,

A Robert Tracey Irish married Jane Willis 6/1/1801 at Egham Surrey.

Two children show on the same index attributed to this couple, both extracted records so fairly reliable,

Henry Willis Irish  baptised Frimley 13/5/1802
Elizabeth Jane Irish baptised Frimley 21/9/1804

Hi Jane

Thank you very much for that - I had found the marriage, but not the two baptisms - these make it fairly sure this is the fellow I am after - I believe from a will entry I have found he was actually Robert Stracey Irish which is probably a big clue to a mothers maiden name somewhere alog the line

All the best

You're welcome, Debbie, glad that helped.  I did notice another Irish in Frimley about the same time as Robert, a James Irish & his wife, maybe he's a brother?

Hi Debbie

Just looked this up on the Parish Records at the history centre here

Robert born 21 November 1805 and baptised 22 December 1805

Marmaduke   born 5 April 1808 and baptised 1 May 1808

Sarah   born 22 January 1810 and baptised 18 February 1810

William Thomas   born 3 February 1812 and baptised 1 March 1812

all children of Robert Stracey Irish and Jane

Robert Stracey Irish came from Ash according to the Marriage Index.

Hello Debbie,

I have only just spotted your posting (from 05 I think) having typed in Robert Stracey Irish into Google.  I've done it many times before but never came up with anything much.  Marmaduke Irish was my great grandfather and Robert Stracey my gr.gr. grandfather.  I have been looking into the Irish family history for the past year and a distant cousin (a gr.gr. granddaughter of Edwin) and who has managed to take the Irish family right back to 1570.

I would love to hear back from you and see where you fit in - and would be really excited if you were able to fill any gaps for us - as we might be able to do for you.  I look forward to hearing back from you.  :)

Sheila
