Researching James Jackson of Carnwadrick farm, Eastwood 1820s. Various spellings of Carnwadrig/Kinwadric and several generations of Jacksons in the farm before him, but not so far connected to our James. This James  was earlier in Drips, Carmunnock where he married Janet Renwick, then Agnes Clerk, having children by both. He had older brother David at Gabrochill, (also several spellings) Stewarton, Ayrshire.  James also earlier farmed Eastwood Mains and  later Carolside, Cathcart. He died 1844 at Bogton Kilbride. I suspect our James and David sons of David and Elisabeth Jackson in Stoneside, Carmunnock 1760s, but gap in baptism registers.
Any information on Jacksons In Carnwadrick, and any knowledge of Davids in Carnwadrick or Carmunnock gratefully received. Thanks.

the 1841 census names index has a James Jackson age 35 and family at Mains Farm Eastwood.

Also with him is Mary (35) ,James (12), Jean (10), David 4,Margret (1)

I am currently researching the Jackson family that lived in Carmunnock in the mid to late 1700. I have located David Jackson and birth registers for 5 children (John, Elizabeth,Margaret,William and Anne). All of the birth registers indicate "David Jackson of Stone Side". I believe Anne is my GGGG-Grandmother. Is there any other info you can point me to? I would be interested in finding David's wife and birth information.

My question is ref CLELAND. I was wondering who you have and where. I'm researching DANIEL BARNWELL CLELAND. I know he was in South Carolina and in Civil War. He had a daughter CLARA JANE who married JOHNNIE PEEPLES.

Hello.

I find this forum post interesting. Yet another example of how interwoven were the old family names in any greater district. I recently was introduced to a CAMPBELL who's roots were in Lanarkshire. We found that if you went back some 200 years [5 generations] we had family in common.
For a period [2 generations] they were the nursery men & gardeners at 'High Blantyre' and in more recent times had a nursery business there. [near Hamilton, Lanarkshire.] From information supplied both generations of Mathew CAMPBELL, had JACKSON marriage connections. Jessy CAMPBELL & Mary Kirkland CAMPBELL with the JACKSONS of Hamilton. Interesting.
