Hi Kazza,
My aplogies for my first post in the wrong list...

I would appreciate a lookup for my 3xGreat-Grandfather, Robert Larcombe b.1810c (possibly near the Somerset border, as on the Convict ship's manifest - it has him being born in Somerset). His parents - would be wonderful!!
From the 1838 October General Quarter Sessions held at Exe
ter Castle:
"Robert LARCOMBE late of the Parish of Honition in the County of Devon, labourer and John FOWLER late of the same parish, labourer".
The offence was stealing and they were both sentenced to 7 years transportation to Australia.
Robert LARCOMBE arrived in NSW, Australia onboard the JOHN BARRY ship, 22 Mar 1839. Some convict records have him being a Stonemason apprentice of 2˝ years. This could be true - as in Australia he was known as a Stonemason & Farmer.
As I have been at a brick wall with this fellow for a few years - any information/assistance would be most appreciated!!
Thank you,
Regards,
Christine
