Would anyone know how to find if any Shropshire Powell's left England for  Canada in the last century?

Hi:

I'm reseaarching Powells in Shropshire and I do know of a headstone in Hopesay cemetery of an "Edward Powell, of Canada".

As far as I know this person is unrelated to me, although Hopesay is not a large place and I do have ancestors buried there as well. Still, Powell is a relatively common name in these parts.

I have no further information on this, but it might be worth following up.

My maiden name is Powell and my parents Raymond (born is WSM, somerset) and Pauline Powell emigrated from England to Canada. My grandfater was James Powell, married to Ellen Marshall in Barnsley Yorkshire 1923. I am having a tough time finding out anything about my grandfather. On their marriage certificate he is listed as James Davies Powell. Any information would be helpful.
