1841 census monmouthshire
« on: Friday 11 November 05 06:51 GMT (UK) »
Could some one please look in the 1841 census for the following:

Caroline Newman born 1834 abt. at  Meager , Monmouthshire , Wales ( I can not find this place on the map. so not sure if it is in Trevethin)

I have found her in the 1851 census at Trevethin as a visitor with her Aunt Elizabeth and Uncle Thomas Underwood .

I am hoping that in 1841 when she would be about 7 years she is with her mother and father.
I have a few possibilities that could be her father.

Could be John/ Thomas/ Fraser.

Many thanks

Jean Parker

Dear hazel,

That look just about right.

The John that I have was born   Nov 1795 that would make him in 1841 about 46yrs old and as they round it down that would be about right.

the other two names are his brothers.

Can you answer one more question for me please?

is "Meager" in Monmouthshire? as I can not find it on my maps here in Australia.l

Kind regards

Jean

thanks Caroline,

I got the name off the 1851 census so it could have been magor.

thanks  for the web site of the town. the church is just great. When you don't have a picuture of your relations it is nice to have at least the town and area  that they came from.

Kind regards

Jean
