Hi Waldo

Sorry we haven't been able to help you so far on this one.  I am doing a bit of housekeeping work on this board and wondered if you have made any progress, or do you have any further details that could help someone to find what you are looking for?

If you are no longer looking for this information please let me know and I will then move it to the completed section.  Thanks.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes

Hi Waldo,

Think this may be him, with surname Manly so possibly illegitimate and living with Nichols grandmother and uncles and aunt (or possibly mother) Jane.  Family indexed on ancestry as Nickols.  No relationships shown in 1841 but as the uncle David that George was living with in 1851 was a bricklayer it could possibly be the right family, hope so:

1841 HO107/1349/10 fol.15 p.23  Well Street, Leeds

Mary Nichols    50
Jane     "         20
David   "         20  Bricklayer App.
Wm.    "          15        "           "
George Manly  3
all born in Yorkshire
