Hello again Celia,
Sorry for the delay in answering, the result of crashing my computer and having repairs done I'm afraid. Yes, I have found Joseph, but not at Rake Lane. He is buried in St Hilary's churchyard in Wallasey, about five or six rows down on the right hand side as you go in. It was, I must admit one of the easiest grave hunts I've ever done. The inscription on the grave was not very informative, but it did tell me the date of his death, 1st May 1895. I will just have to get around to purchasing his death certificate now.

On seeing the Name Davies again it reminded me i already had some Davies Burials from previous lookups in my note book. So i will put them on here with any other surnames i find. Sometimes if i haven't found what i want, i just like to pick random surnames with Random years. The most popular years i am asked for. I will put them all on this post rather than scattered them around and try and keep them in name order.

1944 Non Con
Buried April 1st Sarah Jane Davies age 86 of Prescot St New Brighton.

Note. putting them in name order was the idea ;D but have now realized that wont be possible because of post in-between :-\

Hi
Most people go for for a walk on the prom or the park,i go to the cemetery ;D nice and quiet there. I noticed a large bush with a headstone underneath.couldn't get at it though.I then spotted a bottom of another one. After a fight with the bush to get to it,and a scrabble round for a bit of paper in my bag. Nothing to rest the paper on only a lumpy stone. I finally got.

In Memory Of John Davies
died 10th July 1905 age 32
Richard Kenneth Davies S.O.A
Who lost his life by the sinking of the Lusitania
7th May 1915 age 18 years

Thats after i transcribed it ;D forgot to add i was also holding two branches down with my right foot while i was copying the inscription they then got away from my foot and nearly took my skirt with it. Why do i do this ???

Good Morning Splumb
Are these people in Rake Lane,or do want to know if they are?Do you know what religion they may have been C.O.E. Or Catholic .The burial records are on film under religion and years at the library. So it helps cut down the number of films i thread through the machines.I don't look at the catholic films unless asked to as the majority of lookups are C.O.E. or Non Con.

Celia, you have taken me right back in time.  Is this the cemetry by the Central Library?  I used to walk through the cemetery sometimes, it was a lovely peaceful place as you say.  I have seen your posts before but hadn't realised it is probably the same place.
