Thank you so much.   Maybe that is why we couldn't find his grave, maybe we were given the wrong references.    My husband does not know whether there was a gravestone so when we couldn't find one, we thought OK, there never was one placed.   

My husband says that Edmund, his grandfather was Catholic but non practising.

it has occured to me that you have the names, date /year of death address, and cemetery. What other information were you hoping to gain from the look up.Apart from a plot number thats all the information i will get.

I had to go over to Birkenhead town today,i remembered i was informed that the library there also has the burial info i use.So i went to check it out.They do so i will start going there again and wont be tied to two days. So while i was there i re-checked the film but i still cant find your Edmund.
The only Edmund was an Edmund Walter Calvely 1959 age 74 retired.I also asked why i cant find any burials after 1962,You have to go to Landican to obtain burials after that date(first time anyone has told me that )  Have you asked on RootsChat for a census. If you ask for a lookup on the 1891 census that will help you a lot.If you know where he was born the looker upper can find him easier.So if he was born Cheshire put a post on the Cheshire board.
 When i have done The other lookup i will check another film for you. Hi Again dont know why i said that No burials are on film after 1962.If Landican wasnt so far away i would offer to go 4 you. Unfortunatly i dont drive and its on the outskirts of Birkenhead and i dont live in Birkenhead.

Have just had a look on the 1881 census,just in case I found only one Edmund Eddowes in the whole of england a father with a son of the same name.Do you think you might be ten years out with the birth date because the young Enmond is 10 years old.Will P.M. the census to you. please reply on the topic not the P.M thanks

HI Celia;

I have asked for a copy of the 1891 census and there is an Edmund Eddowes, born about 1883, b Birkenhead and living in Liverpool.   We think it may be him but I thought if I found his age at death, that might confirm.  Then I checked out 1901 and can't find him.   What ever help you can give is really appreciated.   Is there any way I can email the Landican cemetery direct and have them check their records?   If you have an email address for me that would be great.   Thanks for all your help

landican don't give an mail address,you can only conact them by phone or letter with a stamped address envelope.Bit difficult for you in Canada  :)The only thing i could suggest is that you write to Landican with your enquirie.Send it to me ( by P.M or my email address) then i will post it on. Then send you the reply ,if any.Ask for the burial information.They might oblige by post,if not ask for the plot number,so a relative  can take a photo for you to sent to you in Canada. That will sound a lot better than

Hope you can help with this one next time you are looking up! I still havent found my Aldred line but trying with the paternal side so am trying to find details of Everelda Carson born c1858 died in Birkenhead last details are 1901 census living Grange area Holy Trinity parish.
Would appreciate ny details you can find.
