Philip
I am posting on here rather than P.M because IT will be handy for others to know.On impulse today I decided to go and find Your 2 graves, then Take Photos of them. After calling in at the library for a cemetery map, which i had lost again ::)
As I had said the grave for frank was 1st class so it would be on the outside of the section 3c.Wanted to do that first as it was the quickest. So off I trotted  maps in hand, looked at the Cemetery map to get me to 3c there wasn't a 3c on the map ::) I thought geeees i have made a mistake, looked at the grave map no i hadn't it is definitely Sec 3c the graves are on it.I couldn't undersand it,what happened next i found amusing :) I saw one of the workers and asked him if he could see a 3c on the map,he studied it from various angles and said No ;D So I thought I would leave that till the mystery was sorted. I went on my way, then he called me back cos he thought he found the section but it wasn't the one.So I was then told to go and find another worker,he had helped me before. He too scrutinized the map so there was the 3 of us trying to work out were the grave was.It was eventually sorted and I was taken to it on the edge of plot I knew not what ;D (I forgot to ask ::)when i got home, on looking at the cemetery map I think :-\ I have worked out which plot the grave is on and it isn't section 3c.
So beware section 3c does not exist :)
Philip having found both the graves I have photos of them.
If you P.M me your email I will send them to you

Hello There has been an interest in Burials in the  Rake Lane Cemetery. I can do a look up If you give me enough information Like death year (not i think year ;D) and possible  religion, thats important. It would be appreciated if you could look up the death First if you are not sure of the year or the nearest possible year. before requesting a Burial lookup. This will save me time and assure that the person did die in the area. The burials go back to the  late 1800 (Flaybrick and Rake Lane only)  And give the address of the deceased person.   Archives only open Thursday Friday and half day Saturday By appointment. Other cemeteries I can do a burial look up for are

Landican Cemetery  Opened 1934
Plymyard Cemetery Opened 1930
Frankby Cemetery  Opened 1940
Wallasey Cemetery, Rake Lane. Opened 1883
Heswall   Opened 1960
Flaybrick Memorial Gardens (formerly Flaybrick Cemetery) 1864

UPDATED 26TH NOVEMBER 2004

I HAVE NOW HAD A REPLY TO MY QUERIES FROM THE ARCHIVIST AS TO HOW MANY DIFFERENT RELIGIONS THEY HAVE ON FILM IN THE BURIAL INDEX.SO I KNOW HOW MANY  FILMS I MIGHT HAVE TO LOOK THROUGH IF THE RELIGION IS NOT KNOWN ;) THEY ONLY HAVE TWO RELIGION'S KEPT SEPARATE C.O.ENGLAND & CATHOLIC.  ALL OTHER RELIGIONS ARE ON THE NONE CONFORMIST FILM. SO IF YOU ARE NOT SURE OF THE RELIGION BUT KNOW YOUR ANCESTORS WERE NOT CATHOLIC. THAT WILL MAKE ANY FUTURE LOOK UPS  MUCH MORE EFFICIENT

Thanks Celia I am sure they were C of E when Ralph Snr married my grandmother in 1915 (2nd Marriage) it was at St Augustines West Derby (distroyed in the Blitz) so that makes me think they were Cof E
Son Ralph died 16th February  1912 one month after his mother (Elizabeth grandads 1st wife)  died, I think it must have been from something like influenza but as to Ross I don't have any idea. Mums half sister was 39 years older than her (born 1877) I met her once when I was 4 she was in her late seventies and the term a real old battleaxe springs to mind a product of the Victorian age .
thanks Wendy

thank you very much for the info I don't have the death certs I know Ralph senior was heart attack not a bad age though . When I have some spare cash I shall send for other death certs .  I am just surmising Ralph Jnr was from influenza . I should have thought thier  standards of living was reasonably high Ralph Snr being Retired Police Inspector and Grand Masonic master so I don't imagine it would have been from poverty
thank you once again

Going by the M.O.B. which was 3rd class which normally  means no headstone.By the time of the last burial it was 2nd,so presumably a better status burial, paid for by whoever was responsible for the arrangements.Thats just my thought though ;) I noticed briefly, there are two other Hankinson in the cemetery.Different sections if i remember rightly.Do you know if any more of your are there?
