Sorry Celia

Curleybill is a new to RC and I should have known better than to respond to him on your territory.  It won't happen again.

Celia
I could write a book about my current relatives.  Some of them were too squeamish/selfish to go to an aunt's funeral in 1996.  Consequently they don't even know whether she was cremated or buried - let alone where.  Even more hopeless for grandparents and great grandparents - at least they have some excuse for those.    My aunt had no family as she lived in Maghull Homes for Epileptic for 45+ years.  She faithfully sent all her nephews and nieces birthday cards every year but they didn't even have the decency to pay their last respects.  I live 7000 miles away and wasn't even told she had died until long after the event.  It makes me really sad and very angry.

Hi Celia!! :) :) :)
How have you been??Sorry for not being in contact with you for a while.Just to let you know I have now found the correct details for Joseph Edward Ryan my elusive gr grandfather.
It was my error as the deatils I had given you before as it  was the wrong Joseph. :-[

Joseph Edward Ryan died 13 February 1947 spooky (I received the cert yesterday on the 13th)

Age 80 years
Died in 56 Church Road UD (I think this is or was St Catherines Hospital)

Cause of death Myocardial Degeneration

District Birkenhead South

Home Address 11 Demesne St Wallasey

Witness at time of death Eileen M Murphy (My Mum)

If it any help to jog your memory this is what you quoted on an earlier page .........

Now some good news   and another problem  I found the burial In The Roman Catholic burials, of Martha Agnes Kate Ryan age 62, the address you know, she was buried on 7th January 1937.In the section next to your grandmothers It gives a grave number unlike you grandmothers. The Problem,There is no burial for Joseph
in the October 1/4 I thought maybe he had been cremated and his ashes scattered late .so went through  the next year to no avail. It is  still possible he might have been cremated and his ashes scattered on his wifes grave. But if the family don't advise the registrar of their intentions to do this.He wont be on a burial register.Because he wasn't buried. If the family do contact the registrar of their intentions, then,i cant remember if it gives the death date but it does give His name abode etcetera,it the says cremated and the date.So we are stuck on that one for the time being. Why wasn't he buried with his wife though.I wouldn't think a cremation is that much cheaper than a funeral even without a head stone.I asked the library about sending the Fax i mentioned they said as long as have the info thats O.K .I didn't have the grave number for your grandmother and they needed that. But now i have a Number for Martha so maybe that will give me something. If there had been a gravestone for Martha i would have seen it before now.
Regards Miss Marples + Celia

Hope you can still or want to help me with this one.

Cheers for now
Maureen
