Hi Macara
I had a look in Rake lane for your burial Sep/Oct/Nov/ i also looked in St Hilary for both of the James they are not there. Sometimes i have reason to lookup the deaths on the G.R.O.Before i actually go out to do the burial one. This i did this morning, as you know  James Jrn Was age 36 when he died in 1918 He was registered in Birkenhead (not died there) so died in wirral.  Were every person in Wirral is registered. I also found on the G.R.O. His father James Finlay Srn. died age 47 in the April 1/4 but his death is registered in W.Derby. Is it possible that the son is buried in a family Grave with his father. So not buried in Wirral, maybe you could have a scout round the cemeteries in the W.Derby area and see if you can find them there. Not  everyone is buried where they die but they do have to be registered there.

Hi Celia

Sorry, seems I missed your question about religion. I would think my Garretts (Garratt), Bassnetts(could be Basnett, Bassnet, Basnet) and Petries would have been COE.

thanks!

Hi MacaraSPlumb, ::)no need to Apologize, it's useful to know the religion if known, because the films are under religion.Once a Catholic always a catholic,i would think.I always look on the C.O.E first anyway then go through the Catholic ones. I once spent hours once a week looking for a burial C.O.E for someone in various cemeteries, not on rootschat but privately. I jokingly said "Are sure they weren Mormons" ;D.
Oh no definitely not was the reply "They were Roman Catholics" ::) ::) ;D i have to say for some reason apart from council cemeteries.Catholic records are hard to find.

Hi again SPlumb
Rake lane didn't open till 1883 so John Garrett wont be there. If he died in Birkenhead where he lived, he might be in Flaybrick. Landican didn't open till 1930 something :-\
Did the The others live in Birkenhead as well or Wallasey?

Hi

Not sure really - do know that they seem to have been more Birkenhead but there are other relatives that are mentioned as having lived in New Brighton.

Are there any burial/plot listings for the other cemetries that I could look up?

regards and thanks

SPlumb

If available any church yard burials or M.I's for Birkenhead.Might have been transcribed into book form by F.H.S.Or other volunteers,(Like the wallasey library have for wallasey west Kirby)and so might be in the main Birkenhead library.Or C& C archives in Chester,Or the Birkenhead Archive in the town hall. There are no burial records available on the internet. There was lots of Church's in birkenhead in your time span as you can see on the website.Finding burials depends on a few things. I only do lookups for Rake Lane, St Hilary  because they are both on film in the Birken archive.Plus a few others in book form in Birkenhead library,so i don't know what else Birkenhead library have.I never asked ;D You dont give a location, but if you live in Wirral a visit to any of the above might find your burials eventualy. ;D
