Hi Andrea I was going to remove your Headstone from the topic as it was not part of  my intentions to take photo's. I am willing to take a photo's of a grave Stone, but i can only do that if i find the burial (which gives me the plot number) of an ancestor. For the person who has put in a request . However i have decided to leave it on otherwise the post's wont make sense. In Future i will send any photo's i get Direct. I think i have done all i can for you at the moment. In Regard to other questions, not related to this topic.Things like census questions, you can ask for a census lookup (Cheshire) . If you  Go to Beginners and ask a question someone will be there to give you advice and help

Hi Karen ,I have now found your house in Edith Road and taken a photo. Just as well i knocked to ask if the owner minded.Because she was in. I would hate to be charged with unlawful photo Taking ;D I will send the photo to your email address.

Andrea I knew,  of Tudor Avenue for some reason the name has stayed in my mind. when i eventually found it. I remembered it well, My best friend lived there. School friend that is haven't been there since. I Now know where the saying "I've lost the plot" came from. Tudor Avenue is now in the middle of a forrest of newer houses.I asked loads of people no one knew, i ended up going to the town hall it wasn't far from there. So your photo is now on the way, The house would have been well kept when your ancestors were there. unfortunately it's looking a bit neglected now.

Regards Celia

Hi Celia...you have been so busy...I thank you so much for all your help, I really appreciate all the time you have spent trapsing around. I spoke to my mother yesterday and told her about her grandparents living in Tudor Avenue, and for an 88 yr old to be told of her family she didn't know, is amazing. I guess when you (her mother)were married to a mariner, you spent quite a bit of time alone, maybe thats why they lived with their parents back then.
When you send me the pic, I will forward a copy on to my mother. My aunt died two months ago at 92, and she was interested in the McNabs, shame I cant tell her.
I remember visiting Tudor Avenue back in the 80's, but have lost all information I had. I know it was near the air vent next to the tunnel under the Mersey.
Cheers
Andrea :)

Hi Celia..thank you for the picture..Just received it..I will print it out tomorrow..it is as I remembered. looks so small when you think of how many lived in it..my grandmother died (spanish flu in 1922) in the bedroom upstairs. My Mother and Aunt born there...what a lot of history.
Thank you again for your marvellous work.

Andrea.....I just read your post about the death due to the Spanish Flu in 1922.  I am assuming your relatives were in the Birkenhead/Seacombe areas. My Great Grandmother, the Taylor's at the 40 Edith Rd in Seacombe died in 1922 too. Makes me wonder if the reason was for the flu. Do you have any more information on the outbreak that year?
I still need to order the actual death records of both my Great Grandparents....cause of death would be on that. I'm just trying to get past the Taylor name and find the next generation back in Tyrone County, Ireland  :)

Celia,
I just talked to my cousin and she said her Mom, the one born at 40 Edith Rd, forgot to tell me that she thought all the gravestones had been placed "surrounding" the cemetery. Is this true? On one hand it makes sense if the stones are falling down but on the other it doesn't because how could "future" people like me go there and even find the plot?
Is she mistaken in her "information"?

Thanks from pesky me,
Karen
