BOWKER. GEORGE, 3657991, Grave Sec. 20.C. Grave 418.
Originally enlisted with the South Lancashire regiment, the son of Thomas P. and Ellen Bowker, of Wallasey; and husband of Susan Bowker, of Wallasey. Served with the 6th Battalion of the Durham Light Infantry, and died aged 30 on the 26th June 1945.
ISAAC. KENNETH JAMES 155706, Grave Sec. 16.C. Grave 203.
Second Lieutenant James, served with the 1st/4th Battalion of the South Lancashire Regiment, and fied whilst on active service in the UK on the 25th November 1941 aged 26.
BIRKENHEAD (FLAYBRICK HILL) CEMETERY
WOOLLEY. WILLIAM GEORGE, 3657699, Grave Sec. 6. R.C. Grave 149.
The husband of Alice Anne Woolley, of Birkenhead, Private Woolley enlisted in the South Lancashire Regiment and served with the 1st battalion at the time of his death on the 15th January 1943 aged 26. Having seen action in France and Belgium, the battalion had returned to the UK, and was heavily involved with the training for the D-Day landings
BIRKENHEAD (LANDICAN) CEMETERY
BRANDON. CHRISTOPHER, 3652062, Non-Conformist. Sec. 6. Coll. grave A.4.
The son of Robert and Mary Helen Brandon, of Birkenhead. Private Brandon, enlisted with the South Lancashire and was serving with the 1st Battalion at the time of his death, aged 24, on the 31st August 1940, shortly after the Battalion had been evacuated from Dunkirk.
HUGHES. JOHN, 3652298, R.C. Sec. 5. Grave 591.
Enlisted with the Sought Lancashire Regiment, and posted to the 2nd Battalion, Corporal Hughes, who was the son of Joseph and Annie Hughes, of Birkenhead; and husband of Lillian Hughes, of Birkenhead died on the 21st June 1941 aged 30, whilst on active service in the UK.
