Dear Celia,
Sorry I forgot to tell you my Mum had no pictures of her parents or her family that raised her, which was her maternal Grandmother and Aunty and she vaguely remembered what her father looked like. :'(
So the photo that you want to send me will be priceless!!
If there is a problem in trying to take it for me and you cant dont feel bad at least you offered and tried and thats worth even more.
Cheers
Maureen

Hi Maureen
bad news i am afraid the houses in Demesne/you have Desmene Street are long gone.I have never been in that road,In some parts it is like a maze.I was talking to a lady who lived in road, she told me she had lived there  about 30 years.Had moved there when her children were young. So i reckon the old houses where demolished middle 1960's 70's when that particular part of seacombe  from the main road to the seafront was practically flattened. Between the Town hall and the ferry. To make room for new housing.I have taken some photo's for you,I found out by chance that there was a Hotel in Demesne Street. The road is unusually wide for round there, trying to find an old photo for you. When i go to the library to do your lookup  i will see if i can find one.

Spent another couple of hours at the library,I wanted to check the burial date given even thought i checked it twice.
Reason she was buried over 2 weeks after she died.It was correct, but never seen that B.4.
I am glad The religion was known because there are lots of wirral cemeteries and church yards to go through far to many to search.Thats why religion is so important.

I had expected with her being Roman Catholic she would be buried on the one of the big plots but she isn't. Over half the cem is Catholic.
1921
Buried June 18th Mary Agnes Hannah age 21 years
11,Demesne Street Secombe M.O.B. Public sec 2R no grave number
Ceremony Performed by J.E.Leddon.
I do not think there is a headstone,i have spent a long time over the years in that  aria Taking M.I's and i don't remember seeing it.

Celia
Thanks alot for looking.I do appreciate it. Shame theres no Head stone though.
I agree with you it does seem along time between dying and burial especially in 1921.
Thanks again Celia for all your help you really are a kind person.
Linda.

I thought there must be some reason for the long delay so i firsty i looked  in the index of B.M.D entered in the newspaper of that year.To see if there was an orbit put in by family there wasn't.There was 2 other Hannah though one in the may edition of 1930 the other in the June edition same year.it doesn't give names so as i didn't want to trawl through 2 newpapers to see who it was.I was hoping to find Reginald,if he hadn't re-married and moved on by then.So what i did was a burial lookup in Rake lane for may & June.As Landican Crematorium wasn't opened at that time i thought i might get lucky.I didn't find any Hannah burial, unless the last one was buried late.So they were not buried there whoever they are.I was browsing through the R/L roman catholic burials 1884-1947 and i recognized a name here and there Like Kehoe that i had spent time looking for.I also had a quick look in frankby cem for catholic burial, and it made me wonder if any of the burials i never found were because the religion wasn't known.I don't look up catholic unless that religion is specified, you would know i think if a family was Catholic or not.Had a quick look at frankby,Eastham st Mary i think, Hoylake & West Kirby.Just to see what the records were like.As i haven had the opportunity to use them. Again a saw none common names that lite a light.Back to this late burial there must e a reason for such a long time between death and burial,so i am wondering if there had to be a post mortem. If that is so then maybe the death and funeral of Mary wasn't made public until the family were given permission to bury her. Also any article or orbit wont be in the paper till weeks later

Linda if i was you i would contact the Cemeteries Registrar at Landican in Birkenhead on behalf of Maureen and see if they can give any reason. If you dont ask you wont know ;D
Cheers

Dear Celia,
Many thanks as menuioned before I think May Agnes died on 5th June in childbirth to my Mother. my Mother told me that May Agnes died of Septicemia thats blood poisoning I think and maybe the delay was for a post mortem as you said.
You have been working hard on this and my gratitude is really appreciated
Love Maureen xx
