Hi Celia,
Thanks for the info on Keogh.
The entries from Gores Directory showing Eliza could possibly be  of my g x 3 grandmother - the years and town are correct and she was a dressmaker.
Every little piece of info helps to build up the bigger picture.
Thank you for your time so wonderfully given and I didn't even ask for the info!
What a special lady you are!
Merry Christmas and a happy new year!
regards, Olly

Hi Olly
great news that you found a relative. Keogh is such an easy name to find because it isnt common.I collected them for the other two rootschatters as well as yourself. They are researching the name as well. They didnt respond to my mail. So none can belong to them. I am sure one day they will be claimed.

Celia

 Happy Christmas :) :) :) :) :)

Hi Celia,
I am Liz from Auckland, New Zealand and I have just joined Rootschat.

My husband's grandfather died in Wallasey in 1958 and I was wondering if you would have any idea if he would be buried in this cemetery?

Details are:
Name:  SEDDON, Frederick Miller
Date of Death: 14 July 1958      age 82 years
Where:  20 Belgrave St Wallasey
Occupation: Tailor

I have checked with my father-in-law and he doesn't think he was Catholic, but details are quite vague and he's not sure.

Any help would be much appreciated
Thanks
Liz

PS  If I've done this wrong, please let me know.

Hello Liz
Welcome to rootschat,Thank you for the simple request that is all the information i need to find a Burial. Having all the information makes a burial a lot quicker to find. The burials for non conformist or general go to 1959 & C.O.E to 1973. So i will look for burial in Rake lane and those religions first. I will be back later with any find

Hello again Liz
No luck with the burial in Rake Lane i am afraid.looked on both films. Also checked if he had been cremated, but no record found.Do you know when your husbands grandmother died.Or if any other family are in The cemetery. Did you get your information from the death certificate for Frederick?

Hi Celia,
Thank you for looking up the registers, I really appreciate it.

The details that I have are all from the Death Certificate.

Its a bit complicated because Frederick had two families.
My father-in-law and the rest of his family emigrated to NZ in 1956.
We don't know anything about the other family except that Frederick's wife was called Margaret.  She may have predeceased him or not.
Frederick's death in 1958 was registered by a P.C CALLENDER (son-in-law), and it appears he was living at Belgrave St as well.

That's about all I've got at the moment,

Thanks for your time and efforts
Best wishes
Liz

Hi Liz
I haven't finished with your request yet.I intend looking for Frederick in other cemeteries as well.,out of Wallasey,Just in case he was buried elswhere.Just because a person dies in one place it doesn't mean they were buried there.I will also check and see if there was an obituary in the paper for him,and check the catholic burials. Will do that in the week.

Hi Celia
Someone directed me to Rootsweb saying that you did look-ups in the Wirral area.

My husband's relatives the Redheads were in Birkenhead from 1851 to the early 1900's.  I know that several were buried there, but I don't know where.  I have the death certificates of William Redhead 1897 in Liscard and his father Thomas in 1903, also in Liscard.  I think Thomas' wife Elizabeth is likely buried with him and am really interested in William's wife MaryAnn, who disappeared from view after his death.  I did find her in the 1901 census.

There was also Thomas' mother Dorothy Redhead who died in 1864.

Is there any way to find these burial records? Someone suggested that the Wallasey cemetery might be a good place to look for the later burials.

I notice also that you have a photo of a Cecil Jones beside your name.  That is interesting as there was a Cecil Redhead (brother of my husband's grandfather Norman) Their half sister Ellen or Nelly Yates married an Alfred Pryce Jones.  Perhaps a co-incidence.  Perhaps there is a connection.  The similarity of first names struck me, as Cecil was not a common name in the family.

I am in Canada, so visiting the Wirral cemeteries is not an option for me.  Here in Ontario, many of the local cemetery records are available locally, so I am hoping that is also the case in Liscard.

I do hope that you can help me.

Thanks in advance.

Nelly
