Colinsmac

Found your Margaret in the non conformist as thought
I would have got this up this morning but my I.P's been down most of the day

1885
Date buried August 12th. Margaret Ross McPherson age 55 (scribbled on a line not normally done it said "wife of Alexander McPherson")
abode Breck Road Poulton Wallasey.M.O.D 3rd class plot 3G Grave 179.
Because i was able to find that so soon I didn't want to go back home.Because i had booked the machine for longer so i thought i would continue on to see if there were anymore McPhersons i found

1890
Buried August 20th Alexander McPherson age 70 years
I could not read the road name the entries in the original book go across two page so on these pages the address go into the spine.
Abode 97 Cleolmond?? the parish i could only see dnes that could be widnes. Alexander is in the same grave as Margaret grave 179

Hi Celia
Many many thanks for your look up, you are a star.
Do you know what M.O.D. 3rd class means?

The address you couldn't quite read is 97 Cholmondeley Street, Widnes. This was the address of Alexander's son-in-law William Chettoe.

Once again many thanks this has completed one more piece of information for our family tree which now contains over 2000 names.

Regards

Colin Macpherson :-*

Oh Dear,i did it again, put M.O.D instead of Of M.O.B which stands for Mode of burial.I don't really know what that means.I never ever got round to finding out because no one has asked me that so far.As to the class, i presume it means what it says.If its 1st class the burial has a headstone  so the cost of the burial would include the headstone. Money was provided to the cemetery for looking after the grave.Which they do on private plots.Think there is one of my photo's on here of a private plot.
2nd  normal burial on the C.O.E  or Catholic only.Including A Headstone
3rd I think is burials on non of the above,so buried on a none conformist plot.Which means a plot for mixed religions
It does not mean they were poor and  didn't have a head stone. It just means that Church of Ireland/Scotland or any other religion cant be buried on C.O.E.or catholic plots. They couldn't really have a plot for every religion as there wouldn't have the room. Thats just my opinion corrections welcome ;D

Hi Colin
I was wondering if you knew if you might have any other McPherson's that might be in rake lane or elswhere. The reason i ask is because i was going through the reference book for B.M &.D in the personnel column of the Wallasey News & Chronicles Yesterday. I noticed there were about five McPherson's mentioned i didn't look at the years, just thought i would let you know.

Hello Ann
it isn't possible to walk round Rake lane and look for a grave you can only that in a churchyard ;D.Rake Lane has over 40 plots and thousands of  headstones.Thats why i have to do lookups so i can find the plot. Are these people defiantly buried in this cemetery. If so i will be able to find them on film because you have given me information. If you are not sure i will wait till i have to visit the Archives on another matter. Then check on it while i am there.
Hi Celia. Yes---Florence Griffith is definately buried there but not sure about her husband. Many thanks. Ann.

Hi Celia. I know you did a lot of hard work for me but I have finally found the death for Leonard Garner Woods  on 1837 it was April,May,June 1953. I know you did a search of the dates I sent you but if you get a chance could you possibly double check within these dates for me. He was probably in the grave without a stone that you found for the son Leonard. Thanks so much.
