Thanks for the offer Celia but I have a feeling Rake Lane opened in the 1880's? That I think rules out William being buried there as he died in 1868, I am wondering if he may have been buried in Flaybrick as I think that cemetery was opened in 1864. The problem is it could be a bit like looking for a needle in a haystack even though I know his year of death you were  right in saying he could be buried anywere especially if he were Catholic.

Sorry Toad it was the mention of Rake lane opening in the 1800 put me off,and it was late I have taken note of the death Year in my burial book.so if i come across it in Flaybrick i will let you know.

Today i came across the website below,Claudias page.While researching her own tree she has printed out some whole page's of burial's.One for Flaybrick 1880 July 16th to August 7th.One for Rake Lane  1919 From March 29th to April 3rd
Also a census page 1901 for Poulton cum Seacome.York Road and Buchanan Road.

Hi Celia,
When you have chance could you look up details in indexes of burials for me for Rose Aldred (not sure which cemetery but not Landican or Frankby) & Elizabeth Carson definitely in Landican in Catholic part I think. Both died 1960/1961 ish.

I had a look for Rose Aldred in Rake lane for  59/60/61 didn't find them.As your not sure which cemetery.I didn't have time to do more(the council have obliged my request  and are putting  back, in 2/3 weeks, the electronic film viewer they took away a few months ago  )  I also looked at Landican but never finished so i will continue with that when they reopen in a couple of weeks.With the viewer back in place.I hope

Hello Celia, hope all is well with you. may I ask if you could look up another person in Rake Lane cemetery?
I am looking for the grave of Leonard Henry Pears who died in 1942. I think he was about 54 when he died. Also I wonder if his wife, May (or Mabel) Elizabeth Pears is buried there about 1963? I have been told that this is where they were buried, but have no definite proof. Can you help I wonder?

I did mostly 50's 60's lookups today among other things.So didn't do your 1942 lookup. I did however find your
Mable Elizabeth Pears.she was Buried in 1964 on January 24th she was aged 79 when she died.Her abode was what looked like(hard to read) Valkie road,but according to my street index it is probably 40,  Valkyrie Wallasey. Mod of burial Sub. Buried plot 20c Grave number 651. I will do the other look up at a later date.

The Flaybrick burials don't seem to go back as far as 1868 on film.At leased i couldn't find the number.So will do that on my next visit in a couple of weeks.They have a draw full of films and a file printed out,with what is on each film,Cemetery and years.I must get the librarian to print out these out for me .So i can find at home what films i need. when i get there.It would save me lots of time. Don't know why i didn't think of that before

Thanks Celia, thats the problem when you are searching for stuff half the battle can be just finding the film fiche book etc it MIGHT be on. Ah if only our ancestors realized that so many of us would want to find out about them and how they lived!

Its not so much the ancestors, its the burial records.There are so many. I have tried to look up a burial's in Rake lane that i am told took place in a certain year. and no they weren't Catholics so i only look at C.O.E I do not find them (but they are there )  is the cry If i am lucky i might find them On Common ground on another film. That is when Both C.O E and Catholic are buried on the same plot (I Think ) Common ground is on a different film,it is just so bitty.You really need to take a course in "How To Use the films"   Before that though you need to take a course on how to use the reference book that tells you want number film you want and what years the films go from/to. Some of these are crossed out because mistakes have been made in the enry in the book. As they say here. It duz me ed in at times
