Parish Records for Chearsley: Hanson
« on: Tuesday 08 November 05 02:59 GMT (UK) »
I would be most interested in any details of the family of Thomas Hanson, born circa 1814.  His son Richard (my great-great-grandfather) was born circa 1848 in Chearsley and married Isabella Kirby in Shabbington in 1871.  They had a son Aaron in 1872 who died on the voyage to Australia in 1874.

    c1 April 1849 Thomas
                         Maria
                         James

Must have married in Hadenham as only the last calling of banns is shown...6 July 1834.

Hope this gives you a start let me know if you would like to know more.

Thanks ever so much for your prompt reply.  I am thrilled with the information you sent.  I assume it all came from the records for the Parish Church of St Nicholas and that they are the actual dates for the baptisms, except where indicated otherwise.

I understand that Hannah Hanson (until your message I didn't know her name!) may have died when Richard was very young.  Is there a record of her death/burial?

Hello Tracy

Thanks again for your reply.  I would be very interested in whatever information you can ascertain on Thomas’s family.

I gather from the IGI that a Maria Hanson (Richard’s sister?) married a Joseph Walker on 24 July 1859 in Chearsley.  We may be related!

I found out today from the 1881 Census that Thomas remarried.  His wife is shown as Sarah Hanson, born circa 1815 at Rowsham in Buckinghamshire.

Hi Julie...

I found a marriage for Thomas & Maria
   21 Jan 1783 Thomas Handson
                       Mariah Badrick.
Is it just the spelling of her name that changes only first child was born in 1783 and last in 1813?
Also found burial of Maria Anson 28 Oct 1799 wife of Thomas, cannot find a 2nd marriage.
Maria died after giving birth to daughter Rebecca (c6 Oct 1799).
  Can you see anything ?
