I would love to adopt one - but sadly I have a few of my own with no names, etc!!

I won't let them beat me though - I will find out who they are!  They must belong to me somewhere.  Argghh!

Hello Jakky - Just wanted to tell you that I had taken a peek at your Maryland 004.

Well, more like a marquee than an outfit. I'm hoping to find one I can ' adopt ' but she would be very hard to beat.

Belated thanks to you and to Prue for all the delightful moments you have given us through your photo treasures......

Hi Pru

Firstly what a fab album and secondly I think the Kirks you have just might be part of my family.  Do you have any christian names for them please.

Best wishes

Hi Jo  :)
The Kirks that you mentioned are not the names of the sitters, but the name of the photographer - Samuel Kirk.  Is he one of yours?
Cheers

Hello Pru

No sorry hes not mine.  I can only manage ag labs and workers in the textile industry.  Although one of my Kirks managed to become a Hairdresser/Grocer.
Never mind, I think it was wishful thinking on my part.

Best wishes

Hi Pru,
Great photos, I am interested in the photographer HILLS.  I am a member of the Hills family from Cambridge and I believe that one of the ancestors was indeed a photographer. Any further information would be wonderful.

                            Thanx Lynn H.

You are all truly amazing!! I've only been here a few days and yet the effort and dedication that everybody puts in is just overwhelming. The pictures are wonderful and having scanned the odd one or two of my own for my family I really can apreciate the time that you put in to share them.

On behalf of everyone new that wanders through your portals.. Thank you for making such a marvelous effort.

Hi Lynn,
I don't have any further information about Hills & Saunders myself, but they are still in operation and have a website which gives a bit of a potted history:
http://www.hillsandsaunders.co.uk/
Hope that helps!

Thanks Jack!  Glad you enjoyed the photo site - you will have a great time here on Rootschat, it's the friendliest, most helpful genealogy forum I've ever come across  :)
