Hi Liz,
Thanks for your kind words  :)
Yes, all the photos are added now, I haven't update the front page to note that yet (how slack is that!  :-[ )
I should also start adding in notes to say whether a photo has been claimed or adopted.  I recently sent a whole lot over to a museum in Vlaardingen, the Netherlands, which were taken there back in the early 1900s.

Wow, what a wonderful topic this is. I have spent most of the afternoon reading all topic replies and looking at the links that have been put on the topic. I'm now a bit goggled eyed ::) as I have looked at  to many Victorian photographs. Well done Prue, you have done a wonderful job, and you deserve a pat on the back. You too Jakky, what a great topic you started.
I'm really glad I had a bit of spare time on my hands today, as I have been well educated on Victorian photographs

Hi Fek,

Never mind, you can do what I have, and adopt one,

I have chosen U.K.Photographers   M-S. she is 6th row down Maryland004.

Any woman with the front to wear that outfit has to be reckoned with, my type of girl, or at least the one I would like as part of my past,

Good idea Jakky - I've had a couple of people "adopt" their favourite photos and have sent them the originals.  They were pictures with no names attached and almost nil chance of being reunited with their own families.  I would rather have them loved and admired by an adoptive parent than sit in the box with all the other nameless faces  :-\

I even reunited a whole set of photos from Vlaardingen in the Netherlands with their home town - the local museum saw them on the website and asked for scans of them...I offered them the real things and they were over the moon  :)  I'm happy they're going home.  Maybe someone there will recognise them  :)

How generous of Jakky and  Prue to give us a wonderful opportunity of maybe finding a pic of one of our ancestors.  Thankyou and well done both of you.
Prue if you come across any Walls of Hereford/Worcester or Browns of Shropshire.....
