Sorry for delay in reply - forgot my passowrd and it's taken me a while to get back in.

I've looked in my history box and most of the Peading/pedin/pedans I've got are way too late - none early enough to give me a clue about Elizabeth Peadin's mother. Earliest one I have is James Pedin who married mary McConkey around 1845 I think

Sorry - I'll keep my eyes open though :-)

Sue

Hi there,

I have PEDEN's in my family who I think came from Down before settling in Antrim.

Robert PEDEN c. 1866   Robert's father was James PEDEN a Milkman from Belfast.
Robert PEDEN married in 1883 to Agnes GELSTON, they had two children, that I know of:  Elizabeth PEDEN b. 1879 Mary PEDEN b.1884.  They lived at 81, Blackstaff Road, Belfast.
I have other PEDEN information that I don't recognise to date.  If you would like me to send it to you I will.

Best regards,
Matty.
Best, Brawley, Gelston, Moore and Peden.

Hi Sue,
I am sorry to say that the following information on the PEDEN'S, which I don't recognise, is all I have to date and it's not a lot either!  apologies.

Before I give you the information, try logging onto the PRONI website.  Here is an extract of the 1912 Declaration explained:

The archive of the Ulster Unionist Council, held by the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland (PRONI), contains just under half a million original signatures and addresses of the men who, on 28 September 1912, signed the Ulster Covenant, and of the women who signed the parallel Declaration. In total, the Covenant was signed by 237,368 men, and the Declaration by 234,046 women.

PRONI, 'Ulster Covenant' 'Search' enter your desired surname.  It is very straight forward.  There you will find a list of all the Peden's Peaden's etc.  You will also find a John Peaden of Newtownards.  Good luck.

b. Anna PEDEN 30Nove 1889
father: Robert PEDED - labourer
mother: Anna PEDEN (nee GEORGE)

b. Isabella PEDEN 25Oct 1882
father: Owen PEDEN - Block Printer
mother: Margaret PEDEN (nee Doherty)

I hope this helps however, if and when I get a chance to go back to Belfast I will take a note of all the birth, marriages and deaths of ALL PEDEDN's in Antrim and Down and through time I will forward what information I have.
Regards,
Matty.
