Lookup 1869-1871 Glasgow - CANKETT

Looking for the following:

1868-1874 . . . family name CANKETT . . . probably in Glasgow

FATHER
Name not known (but it may have been Robert).
He may have been born in Wales or England versus Scotland.

MOTHER
Mary (nee Yendle) born 1844 in Newport, Monmouthshire, Wales.

SON;
George Robert but may appear as just Robert (as he did in the Wales 1881 Census.
Born 1869 (+/- one year) in Glasgow.

The husband/father died 1869-1874 because his mother (with son Robert) had returned to Newport, Monmouthshire by September Quarter 1875 where she remarried.

Any information greatly appreciated.

There is a birth for George Robert Cankett (scotlandspeople) 4th Sept 1868,
17 Broomhill St. Glasgow. Father Robert, occ. Potter, Mother Mary Cankett, maiden surname,  Yendle, married 12th june 1864 Newport.
There's also a death for Robert Cankett, 1869, Glasgow City.
I did'nt have enough credits left to download Robert's death cert. but I've got George's birth cert.

My great grandfather was George Robert Cankett he was born in 1888 and died in 1948 we think in Cardiff, he left my great nan and his children after he met another women, he was a bookie

Thank you for your interest.  Since my posting in 2005 I have concluded my research. I now know that the George Robert Cankett in question was the one born in 1868 in Scotland and that he died 1931 in Newport, Monmouthshire (now Gwent).
