1841 Somers Town Lookup--Smith
« on: Sunday 30 October 05 03:02 GMT (UK) »
Now that the 1851 census is online I've gotten one step closer to finding good information about my Smith line. It was also the first census where my great great grandmother was living at home and not as a servant in another household. So now I can confirm the match for her parents. But I still would like to have more information about this family.

This family is living on a different street in 1851 than they were in 1861 and 71. And someone did check for them on the 1841 census at the address they were at in 1861. In 1851 they were living at 37 Middlesex Str. which is still in Somers Town (it looks like they never left that area).

I'm looking for James Smith and family. James was a saddler and harness maker, born about 1801 in Cambridgeshire. His wife Kesiah (Keziah or Eliza) was born about 1802 in Shropshire. Daughter Ann born in 1842 in St Pancras. Son Robert born about 1839 in St Pancras (one census says in Somers Town) and James born about 1835 in St Pancras.

Any help would be appreciated. And thanks for those who took the time to check before.

Hello

I'm doing a bit of housekeeping and noticed this older request.  Wondering if you are still looking for anything on this topic or you have resolved it in the meantime?  If you're still looking, this might be a tough one to find so do you have any further info to add that might assist finding them?

If we don't hear from you in a while, I'll assume the latter and move it to the 'completed' section.

No, I'm still hoping to find this family on the 1841 census. And no, I haven't been able to find any more details about the family that would make the search easier.  :(
