Mystery picture found near site of Canadian plane crash in Wales...who is he?

You could be right Pru....but as this is a record of Alllison then it is possible to discount him.  This was included on his University site.  Hamel was also a pilot...so maybe we now need to look in that area? Would you say this picture is maybe the first guy on the left?

The picture of our unknown boy seems to relate to either the fellow on the far right or far left of the crew photo.  I lean towards the guy on the right, but only because the one on the left is not very well defined.  Left man has a better match in terms of shape of face.

Don't you  think  the  men  in  this   flight  crew  picture  are  much  older  looking  than  the one's  who  died  in  the  crash ?

    That card is from a project on a site run by the McGill education faculty which it seems was the school attended by Flt lt Allison, Interesting though is the fact that the project was created by Christopher Milligan, Wes Cross and Sam Allison, now I wonder if Sam Allison is a relative of our airman.
    One of your posts states that Hamel was also a pilot - I presume that this in view of the fact that Allison prior to his promotion to flt lt was a pilot officer, pilot officer  is a rank and although it can do I don't think it necessarily refers to being a pilot.

Right Denn, that is the site where I got the card.  Our guy Allison attended the University.  I'm going to email the Dean, maybe he can help in some way in contacting the family or has further information.....It's worth a try.

I've just spoken to my grandfather about where he found the picture, he said he found it in the wreckage, under what he thought might have been the wing.  He said that he had seen the plane as it was about to crash and it was on fire in the sky. 

He said to "thank everyone for their time taken to help so far".

Hi Caroline,

I have already e-mailed Dr. Christopher Milligan from the University, to see if he has any details about who submitted the photo. I doubt very much that  Sam Allison is related, although anything is possible. It is just that there are 2 people by the name of Allison employed at the school.

Caroline, I think it is a great idea to email the Dean of the School, as he may know of other family members that attended as well.
