Sorry! :-\  I'm afraid I did that while all of you were sleeping, as I am on a different clock.

I have just made contact with someone in the media ( almost impossible on the weekend! ) However, I spoke to a lovely lady from Sun Media (Newspapers) here in Winnipeg, who was most enthusiastic...and also she knew something about the Wellington aircraft! Bonus! This is a newspaper that runs in several Eastern and Western Provinces,  so here's hoping! I have faith in her to run something...as they are running several pre Remembrance Day items next week!   Fingers crossed!

I've also added it to our "emmigration to canada" thread...Hopefully more help is on the way!!!!

JJ has some good news, she made contact with someone from Sunmedia who was interested in the story and hopefully will get back to her.  She has also posted on the Canadian immigration board..so others might pick it up which was was a great idea.

I've emailed the University that Allison went to and know that someone has at least read my email as I put a "read receipt" on it and had that back...so its hopeful.

oops, I see her details below...apologies

hello...rootschatters...Here is another point to ponder...my husband thought the jacket on the boy was way too large for him..the way it fits...and he may well be right...we have all marveled at the cap almost off the head. Perhaps he slipped on the uniform for a photo op and may not be military....just another thought to add to the mix!  J.J.

(Besides every new addition puts this back onto the top to view....)

I agree that it could be a younger brother, or maybe just a brand new enlistee.

In the crew photo's, they all look to be older, but we know that they were still quite young, given by what is written in  the memorials.

I guess that a year or two in the war would age anybody.

I've received a reply from Chris Milligan who with Wes Cross (from Mc Gills University) have an internet site Commemorating the 60th Anniversary of the ending of WW2 and honouring the memory of Mc Gill Graduates, Studends and Staff Members lost in the conflict.  Most of the people listed have pictures and War record details so it could be useful for others searching for Mc Gill members.

http://www.education.mcgill.ca/ww2fields/mcgill/

He has taken a look at the photograph of the crew and compared it to the one listed on his site of Joseph Allison and believes that Allison is fourth from the left, hope you all agree with this..it looks right.

He said that he will take another look in the War Record Folder with his colleague Wes to see if there is any other information.  So with his help we can now identify two of the crew in the photograph.  I hope we can eventually place all.

Just to clear up the ranks, I did find this site. ( re: pilot officer )
I will post it as it may come in handy for others searching
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Canadian_Air_Force

Scroll down to see the ranking order, then if you click on the link,
it gives you lots of details and the corresponding stripes.   J.J.
