You need to provide as much information as possible if you are wanting people to help -

Where was Donald Stewart born?
Where did he die?
Is there a headstone or an obituary?
Where and when did he get married?
Are you giving 'MacHardy' as a middle name or as a maiden name?
Are there registered birth / deaths of children?

Update - Noting that after many decades of research believing that we were from the WesterGourdie family. we have discovered that we are not descended from that family. There were two couples wth the same names - William Stewart and Isobel Dow - living within a few miles of each other. Our ancestor turns out to be William Stewart, was baptised May 22, 1811, the son of William Stewart in Meikle Obey and Isobel Dow, daughter of John Dow, farmer, both in Auchtergaven Parish.
Any one from Meikle Obney, or Auchtergaven?
