Kent Completed Lookup Requests / DANIEL DURAND 1851 Census
« on: Thursday 18 December 08 15:26 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, :)

I am hoping someone can help me find Daniel Durand on the 1851 census for St. Mary the Virgin, Dover in Kent.  This particular census does not appear on Ancestry.com and I am appealing to anyone who might have the census disks for this county.

Daniel Durand was born abt. 1809 in St. Mary the Virgin, Dover.  In 1849 he md. Eliza Robinson (b. abt. 1816 in the same area).  This was a second marriage for both.

The 1861 census for this couple shows just Daniel, Eliza and a 'daughter', Elizabeth D (Durand?) Fuller, age 15.  The BMD shows two births - one - a March 1846 registration for,  Fuller, Elizabeth Durand Dover 5 115 and (2) a  June registration 1846 for FULLER,  Elizabeth     Dover  5 125.  I am trying to determine if Elizabeth was the illegitimate daughter of Daniel and Eliza before they married. or someone else was involved.

Any help would be appreciated.

Lancashire Lookup Requests / HOWARD family of Banks, North Meols, Lancs.
« on: Saturday 01 November 08 20:16 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,

There were many Howard families in Banks, North Meols, but I am trying to find anyone who might be researching the same Howard family that I am.  I have census entries, etc. for my ancestor, William Howard, born 10 Sept. 1870.  He married Mary Rimmer of Southport in Dec. 1892 in Southport.

William's father appears to be William Howard, b. abt. 1833 in Crossens, N. Meols.  To my knowledge, he married Jane Ball in Ormskirk district in June of 1857.

If there is anyone reading this message who might be related, I would love to hear from you.

London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / Manor Park Cemetery, Bethnal Green
« on: Friday 10 October 08 02:30 BST (UK)  »
Hello, :)

I am looking for someone who lives in the area of Manor Park Cemetery who would be kind enough to locate the graves of my great grandparents, Frederick and Jane Robinson (nee Busby) who are buried there and possibly take a picture of the grave(s) for me if they still exist.

Frederick Robinson died 08 July 1937 in Bethnal Green and was buried July 1937.  I have a printed burial card which states that his remains are in Grave No. 41, Square, C.  Wife, Jane's burial card indicates she died 29 January 1906 and was buried 05 February 1906 in Grave No. 665, Square, 41.

As a Canadian, I am unfamiliar with cemetery burial laws in the U.K.  The fact that my gt. grandmother, Jane Robinson, died over 100 years ago, might indicate that the perpetuity of her grave has lapsed, the remains removed to make room for new graves and reinterred somewhere else.  Hopefully, someone may be able to set me straight on this.  I realize that Manor Park is a very large cemetery and like many large burial grounds around the world, they are running out of room.

The grave numbers indicate that my gt. grandparents are not in the same grave.  Again, maybe someone can shed some light for me regarding this.  They weren't wealthy people by any means.  My gt. grandfather was a manager of a boot shop.

I certainly would appreciate any help on locating these graves.

Lancashire / MARRIAGES OF ROBERT RIMMER
« on: Thursday 20 January 05 02:51 GMT (UK)  »
Hello Everyone,

I am new to RootsChat.

I am looking for information on Mabel RIMMER who was the second wife of Robert RIMMER born 04 Nov. 1879 in Southport.  His first wife was Charlotte Jane SMITH whom he married in June 1899.  They had three children to my knowledge: Ronald, Douglas and Desmond, and subsequently divorced.  I have no date for this divorce and haven't a clue as far as researching Southport divorces.

Robert married for the second time to Mabel RIMMER (his cousin).  I have been given information that Mabel RIMMER's father was Richard RIMMER who had a brother, Nathan.  This is all the information I have and would dearly love to find Mabel RIMMER's date of birth, her mother's name and her date of marriage to Robert.

Robert RIMMER is the son of my gt. grandfather, Robert RIMMER born 26 September 1836.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.  It's difficult enough researching the RIMMER name - even more so from across the pond.
