Hi David

Out of interest what is the section number as i have a copy #123 and found my G-Grandfathers headstone, this was after using other plots as a starting point as quite a few are missing and the graves are a LOT closer then you think.

Steve
ps; i live in Oz and "tramped" through the cemetery last year with mum (73yrs) on a rainy day, it was so comical but we got the result that we wanted!

Hi All
just looking through the surnames and came across your conversation, i have the following in my tree on my mothers "Knight" dad's side.
George Meatyard born in Devon prob around 1809
his son George Meatyard b1829 Devon married Jemima Phillips in Porchester.
their daughter Evelina b1853 Porchester married John Henry Knight.

I have the marriage certificate of George & Jemima giving the fathers name and then a census with his birth place, the marriage certificate has a witness Sarah Young and she appears on the 1851
census in Portsea with a Clara Meatyard b1845.

hopefully i haven't confused anyone

Hi All

The birth details are hers and she had other family still in the Bournemouth area, i will get mum to order the certificate to see who reported the death as i live in Oz.
She is listed as Walth Ballam with her siblings etc in 1901 Durnford Road, Bournemouth.

Thanks for that........i have been chasing  this for a year and it has been driving me crazy!

Hi All
i have been looking for the above's death and gone through the whole of Ancestry's BMD for 1945-1954 as my mother can only remember her being around up to 1952, living in West End.
I also checked for Ballam being her maiden name as she lost her husband quite early in 1917, i know she was still using her married name in 1932 from her daughters marriage certificate.
Any pointers would be appreciated and if she would be covered by the Winchester records as i think the area is under Fareham.

Hi There
I have been researching my G-Great Grandfather (Wiltshire Reg) and found he died on the Cameronia in 1917, i have been on various sites finding as much as i can about the sinking etc.
Recently i received an email from a gentleman that has recently found 4 photographs possibly taken by his Grandfather (Northamptonshire Reg) either as a survivor or passenger on the H.M.T BD Nemesis which was nearby at the time of the sinking. These photos (3) show the sinking of the ship and 1 of a lifeboat in the water, with times and comments on the back.
If you wish i can forward to any one that is interested.

Regards Steve
