Many thanks all

So, the John Crewes in Probus in 1841 aged 9 is the person who goes to Chatham, and marries Mary Ann Rivett. I cannot find any details of the deaths of either of them, nor can I find any reference to the birth of George, apart from census records, no birth certificate or baptism as yet...

Very perplexing

Groom, you mentioned an online tree, could you tell me where you found that as I would be very interested in looking at that

Cheers Tim

Kent Lookup Requests / George Crewes and his parents John Crewes, Mary Ann Rivett
« on: Saturday 24 January 15 11:55 GMT (UK)  »
Hi All
My wifes relative, George Crewes is a mystery
Born in about 1868, 1869 in Chatham, Kent, to John Crewes and Mary Ann Rivett, he is already living with his grandparents Robert and Mary Rivett in 1871, and he is back in Cornwall in 1881 living with his Grandmother, sister and other relatives.

He appears to have sister Mary Ann b1862, brother Robert  b1864. Mary Ann goes to Cornwall, Robert disappears and I cannot find him.

I cannot find any reference/certificate for the birth of George. Any clues would be appreciated

When George was married in 1901, the certificate states that his father was deceased and that he had been in the 81st regiment.

I cannot find any reference to the death of Georges parents, John Crewes or Mary Ann Rivett and I would appreciate any clues as to their fate

Many thanks in advance

Cheers Tim

Hi All
I think the following
Janet Hannon was mother to Thomas Pringle Hannon Vincent
Janet Hannon was sister to Robert Hannon (born 1802)
also sister to James, Thomas, Jean(MArgeret) and Douglas Hamilton Hannon

Douglas Hamilton Hannon born about 1814. His son was Thomas Pringle Hannon, born about 1833, arrived in Australia in 1853. Thomas Pringle Hannon married Margaret Colville

Hi Marcus

I have some info on some of the other children of Thomas Vincent and Janet Hannon. But I don't have any info on Mary Ann (maybe known as Molly) and Ethel Maude (apparently went to the US?)

Do you know anything about these two members of the family?

Cheers Tim

Hi
I am trying to find details of the children of William Vincent and Janet Hannan, and more info on William Vincent.
What I know so far, to be veriifed
William Vincent and Janet Hannan married 1818 in Bo'Ness
1. Mary Vincent born 25th Aug 1819 in Glasgow
2. Thomas Pringle Hannan Vincent, born Edinburgh c 1821
3. George Vincent born c 1823
4. Robert Vincent born c 1826
5. Frank Vincent born c 1829
I have found in the 1851 census a record of William, Jane, George and Frank living in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, in which it states that William Vincent was born in England.  I know Thomas Pringle Hannan Vincent married in Greenock, then left for Australia in 1853. Any help or information on the other family members would be a great help, there appears to be a Vincent black hole regarding them

London and Middlesex / Re: Alice Selina Goddard - Confusion
« on: Tuesday 12 January 10 08:44 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Valda
I think your right, George Goddard does not seem to exist at all. I know nothing about the Poor Law System, so I will look into that, this research gets more and more interesting. Do Poor Law Records exist?

It certainly seems right that she formed no part of her mothers new life. Louisa Maidment/Davy seems to get more and more confused regarding her age and where she was born, disturbingly so.

"What does the tree say about Alice's mother?" - What does this statement mean, feel free to send me a message if the meaning is cryptic ;-)

Cheers Tim
