Hi Marg

Sorry for all the confusion - I changed my email address a few years ago after moving.  It's almost impossible to remember or change email addresses on genealogy sites I have found.  Rootsweb seems completely revamped.  Anyways, we are in touch now, thank goodness.

I found your posting here by doing an internet google search for James O'Dowd.

Best Regards
Lee

Hi!

I am a direct descendent of a James O'Dowd born 1805 in County Sligo, Ireland who married Marry Summerville.  According to my records they had 5 children Richard, Jame, Robert James, Margaret and Elizabeth.  If these records are correct, I hail from the Robert James line.  Robert was born in cushing, Argenteuil, Quebec, Canada.  He married Eliza Bigelow 1872.  they are both buried in St. Mongoes Cemetery in Cushing, Quebec, Canada.  Robert had 3 sons - Joseph, Lemuel, and Robert.  All 3 born in Argenteuil County, Quebec, Canada.  Joseph was my great-grandfather.  He married JoAnna Townsend and they subsequently farmed around Kenora, Ontario, Canada.  They had 2 children:  Irene and Lawrence.  Lawrence was my grandfather who married Gertrude Maude Alcock and had 2 sons:  Merwin William and Ralph Lawrence.  Merwin was my father.  He married Dorothy Mary Simmons.  they had 1 daughter (me) Diane and 1 son, Kenneth.  I changed my name from Diane to Lee and took my mother's maiden name after my divorce.  I have one son, Kristopher Boyd and he has one son Leif Boyd.

I hope to hear from you sometime in the future, cousin.  write me:   (*)

Best Regards
Lee Simmons
