Yes I found Richard's death record eventually, buried 1809 aged 45. My Richard is a bit of a mystery - not sure where he was born can't find any birth records which match. The first record I have is his marriage record to Elizabeth Cooper in 1789 St Dunstans. Then his two children's birth records William and Letitia.
How did you know Richard worked for Leny Smith? I found a Old Bailey Record relating to the Crape Factory so that's how I know.
Is your Thomas Taplin the one who had several children at St John's? If so I've been trying to make a connection between him and Richard. He was married at St Dunstans too wasn't he?
