World War One / Re: Silver War Badge - Harry Neville Williams?
« on: Tuesday 08 February 11 20:08 GMT (UK)  »
Further to my recent post I have now received information from family that this Silver War Badge may have been awarded to Harry Neville Williams.

Could anyone please advise how I could prove the link between Harry and the Badge numbered 213563.

Thanks

World War One / Silver War Badge - Number but no name
« on: Monday 07 February 11 14:23 GMT (UK)  »
I have a SWB which is a family item but I don't know who it was awarded to.  It has a number (213563) stamped on the reverse but no name.

Could someone help me to identify the owner from the number

Thanks

Hi,

Hope someone can help me with this.

Archibald Davies married Elsie Thornhill at St Johns in Bacup in 1922 - marriage registered Q3 1922 Haslingden.

I'd like to know parents names and witnesses to the marriage, so if anyone has access to the Parish records for St Johns covering the period July - Sept 1922 I'd be most grateful for information.  Sorry I can't provide a specific wedding date.

Thanking you in anticipation

Hi,

I've been researching Thomas Stanton (b. 1863 Mold, Flint) and it seems from the 1881 Census that he was a resident at the above school for boys.

Can anyone tell me more about this "institution" and is there any way of finding out Thomas's crime.

Thank you in anticipation - Ian

Westmorland / Arnside Convalescent Home - Mary Ann Stanton 1911
« on: Wednesday 17 November 10 09:55 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,

I've been researching a Mary Ann Stanton (b. Manchester 1894) and on the 1911 Census she appears to be residing at the above convalescent home.

The details shown for the Matron indicate that the home is sponsored by the Manchester and Salford Hospital.  Can anyone provide more information concerning the home, and is there any way of finding out the nature of Mary Ann's illness.

Thanking you in anticipation - Ian

Thank you again CaroleW

The Leonard I am interested in is the person born in 1891 in Chorlton.  Could you please let me know how certain you are that he died in Blackburn in 1962 and do you have any address for him in the interim periods.

Thank you again for your most generous help

Regards - Ian
