Hi I noticed your posting and wondered if there is a connection perhaps between our families? My grandfather was named James McBay Blacklaws, and was born in Benholm in c1920. He married a woman from Fern, Angus in 1941 in Benholm her name was Dorothy Clyne Yeats. My grandfather passed away in 1992, if you can shed any light on this i'd be grateful if you got back to me thanks very much

He was named andrew francis murphy, born in lisburn in 1924, his parents were frank and lizzie. we dont have much information on his early life but we know he had family in ireland (co. down area). He moved to scotland sometime before 1961 and died in 2007. If anyone knows anything i would b very grateful thanks

Aberdeenshire / Robert MacDonald

I am trying to find out more about the family of a Robert MacDonald, who may have been married to an Elizabeth Ritchie around 1907ish. There was a son .. Edward MacDonald, who we think was adopted by Robert. The place of birth for the child is registered as Calfmoss Near Stoneyhill, Cruden. Unsure whether this was the residence of Robert MacDonald or just where the baby was born. Any information would be fantastic thanks

i have none!!! i really am starting from scratch. I know my great aunt died in 1994 aged 84, and i have managed to find a Louisa Cooper born in 1909 in Fordyce, its the only one there is so by process of elimination i figured it should be her. If its any help, she had a brother called Alexander (Sandy) who was my grandfather. There may also have been a brother called Robert.  Sorry I dont have any more information to go on.

I have just started my family tree, and am struggling to get information on my mothers side of the family. I know her great aunt was called Louisa Cooper, and from what i have managed to find out, she was most probably born in Fordyce in 1909. I dont have any other information, and I know its not very much to be going along with but if anyone can help me I would be delighted thanks

I have just started my family tree and I  was hoping someone out there can help me. My grandfather was James McBay Blacklaws, he married Dorothy Clyne Yeats in Benholm, Kincardine in 1944. I know they spent a lot of years in Johnshaven, as my father often talked about it. If anyone can give me some more information i would be very grateful thanks
