Hello. I'm looking for Kenneth Macdonald born abt 1825 Scotland and died before 1900 Toronto Ontario, he married  Sarah Ann McDonald?? I think that is the last name d/o of Benjamin and Mary Mcdonald. I have a newspaper article from my great great grandmother Amelia Macdonald and it states that Mr and Mrs Kenneth Macdonald came out to Brampton from Scotland but soon moved back to Toronto where I gather they bought a store, cause she remembers getting candy from her father's store. Now I have no other information on Kenneth or his wife, dates of birth or death/place of burial?  or exactly were they came from in Scotland. Macdonald is such a popular name as Smith is?? there are thousand of names.. there children were as follows Amelia Macdonald/Eddy(grgr grandmother) Margaret Macdonald/Cleveland, Louisa Macdonald/Church, Mary Macdonald/Andrews, Victoria Macdonald/Patte, Albert Edward Macdonald, married a KcKercher/McKiercher, Sarah Ann Macdonald/Bull, Carrie Macdonald/Haight,
Any Help in finding my Macdonald's would be wonderful. Thanks Karen

hi
thanks for answering, but I think the home was call Toronto Boys Home and was located in toronto, and I found it on the 1901 census?? but the spelling is different, he his spealt as Emalie Beggley born Dec 10 1890, he was 10 years old when he was in there with  is brother Alex, now the interesting part is why would they be there??? there was 4or 5 other siblings at home??? Emile married my great grandmother in 1911.
I hope this is enough information?? I don't have a direct date of when they were in there and for how long??? all I found was the census that gave the first hint that they were in a boys home???
The book is called -135 years of caring: the boys home 1859-1994, and there is only 1 book and its at the toronto public library.. again thanks for any help  Karen
