« on: Friday 04 December 09 18:26 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
Still looking for relatives of Sydney, Florence and Harold Sproson. Found possible matches for Harolds son and Sydneys sons but no one for Florence, she married a chap called Mitchell.
Also looking for grandchildren of John Henry 1847.
Thanks

With the info I had about her marriage I think I found that she died in 2002 in Cornwall. Need to find the obituary in cornwall. How do I find these?

Thanks for the info. I think she might have told one or two fibbies. Now I have something to work on.

Hi folks
Thanks to all of you for the info on Charles Woolnough. It seems he might be the milk carrier. I'm also looking for a lady called gwendoline Woolnough circa 1920. I have looked at the births for that year and am struggling to find her. I have found her getting married to someone called Russell in 1960. Can anyone enlighten me.
Thanks

I think he was a Charles Woolnough and was a milkman. His first wife died and he married a lady with the surname Weale. He had children during his first marriage and one child by his second. She was Gwendoline Woolnough and was my birth mother.

Family History Beginners Board / Sproson family

I'm doing my husbands family tree. I've got a long way but can only go back to Reginald Sproson b. 1786. how do I get further?
Also he knows very little about his uncles Sydney b 1889, Florence b 1887 and Harold b 1885. We know that they are from Cheshire mainly round Congleton, Altrincham and Buglawton area. I've got their dates of marriage but I've hit a stone wall around any children they might have had. Can anyone help? the name sometimes gets mixed up with Sproston but i'm pretty sure that these were definately Sproson.

I think I need to find if any of his kids survived. I think they did but I'm going to have to dig my birth mothers family to see if any of them are alive and know the background.
Thanks to everyone who has helped

Thank you to every one. As I am adopted the polish aspect came from the rather limited information that I have from the agency. His name is not on my birth cert but they were quite firm about his age. He might have come over before the war. The recods definately state he has children from a previous marriage. I'm fairly certain my birth mother has died but I haven't really checked that side as yet
