 :) Could anyone help please?

Looking for any info on the above, Born 1811 Reichenbrand, Cheminitz, Poland

Married to Maria,Rosa, Louise, Lenz,

He was on 1861 UK Census, Died 1877, England. They had 6 children,
Maria,Ida, Franz,Alma, Charles, Edwin.

My main interest is any information prior to 1861, as I understand they moved to Germany from Poland, then to England Possibly 1855-58.
Thank you

:) Hi all Could anyone help me please?

I have hit a rather large brick wall. I am looking for any information on the above name, I know he was an exiled Polish freedom Fighter in Germany circa 1848, moved to England circa 1855, I have him on UK 1861 Census in Sunderland, Tyne&Wear Married with a Family. In particular where did he leave from in Germany? and where/when did he land in England? I know he was a Polish Painter in Particular paintings of Ships.
Many thanks.

:)Hi Ian this is a very welcome reply indeed, this has caused me a great deal of thought for about two years,Downie was my grandmothers maiden name, My link ended at Downie/Mary lisle, I have just joined Roots so Iam unsure how to send a PM, Iwould be very interested in any info you are able to share, the shipping info is of particular interest. I know the Downie side was a shipping family I think for at least a generation. Look forward to your reply.
Many thanks

:) Hi all I am a new kid on the block, hope this is the right place? The above is a distant relative, according to the 1861 Scotland Census he was on board SS Cambria with  his Wife Mary Ann, and son James. Cannot find any record of where he was going I am guessing New York? or when the ship Departed. In his own right he was a Master Mariner but I do not think he was on this particular Journey the Captain. Strangely he is recorded 0n 1871 English as being in the UK. Could anyone help please any info at all.
Thank you
