Hi Bodger

Have checked paper work and found my Great Grandfather Mark Armstrong came from Sutton Yorkshire not near the borders as first thought though no doubt there will be some connection as in the days when Mark Armstrong was born 1878 the borders where different then today. He married a Jane Ann Lowther and they had five children one of which was my Grandmother Mary Ann Armstrong, who married a Howman. The Hall side is from when my Great Aunt Elizabeth married Edward Horace Hall, they emigrated to Australia in 1955. I would be interested to see if there are any connections as my mother keeps telling me I should move to Scotland, well if it is a choice of there or here where I am now in Crete I think my mind is made up. Look forward to hearing from you.

Hi There

The Armstrong/Hall family I am looking for are from Hull Yorkshire and emigrated to Australia one lot in 1948 and the other in 1955. I know Patrick came back for a while but it is not known if he stayed, he was born in Hull in 1931 to Alfred and Violet Armstrong. I know my Great Grandfather Mark Armstrong who married Jane in the 1800's came from near the Scottish Borders somewhere I will have to check my paper work and get back to you both. Thankyou for getting in touch I will check all my paper work and get back to you.

Looking for a Patrick Armstrong last know address was with Uncle in 1948 at 20/10th Avenue Hull, Uncle's name was Thomas all born Sculcoates.

Hi There the riots are on the mainland we live on Crete Island away from it all. Will know about post on Friday as I only go into town once a week we do not have postman or woman here, but who knows now a new goverment is in things should change, any way will let you know when they arrive, take care.

Hi there can some one please help, I have been looking for my family in Australia I have there details of the dates they left and to which location there records are in. I registered with the naa, and one said that I had to go to the reading room in Perth where one of the records is and the other in Canberra said I have to apply to the naa archives to view these records, if some one could tell me how to get any more information, this would be help full. Please note I do not live in Australia.They Departed on the ONTRANTO 23 March 1955, under the Assisted Passenger Migration Scheme. Kind Regards

Just let you know got a couple of things wrong yesterday, must have been too soon after my greek class, anyway,Elizabeth and Harold had three children, ................... though one died young. They were all born in Hull and first lived down Westbourne Avenue before moving to Lambeth Street. So maybe this might be of help. Also had contact with person from Victoria Melbourne were they all went over too so might be something there will let you know out come.
