Joseph Bowers born 1844? Eccles Lancashire
Married Elizabeth Dilworth 1867
Died 1925

Any information on Josephs birth or parents would be appreciated, I seem to have hit a brick wall.

I am new to genealogy so any pointers  may put me on the right path

Thanks

Hi Blubelle
Thanks for your prompt reply. I am however  somewhat confused (Nothing Unusual).
The Arthur Bowers I am tracing was the son of Elizabeth Dilworth.
The only Edith I have seen was the daughter of Elizabeth Critchlow.
                 Help!!

I haven't got the necessary 3 posts yet but should have in the near future.

Regards and Thanks

Hi Bluebell
I have started this week to research my Bowers family tree. It seems that my grandfather Arthur was the son of Joseph and Elizabeth Bowers.(1881 Census)  If this is true I can confirm that he did not die in a mining accident. In 1902 he was in the S.Staffs Regiment in  South Africa. In 1940's he was a miner at the valley Pit in Hednesford and lived at Church Hill Hednesford.  Have not yet confirmed his date of death but think it was  1953 ish.
Any information you can give me about any of the Bowers family would be appreciated.  I have a little  information on Arthurs son  Raymond, my father.
Regards GrumpyamI
