Might I commend Michael Byrne's excellent book 'Legal Offaly' which I have used before, researching my own family (which in the last 24 hours, I've linked to JW Briscoe through Sophia!). Michael is an lawyer practicing in Tullamore, and a very active member of the Offaly Family History Society- I've contacted him directly in the past, and has been really helpful!
