« on: Wednesday 19 October 22 00:09 BST (UK)  »
Looking for her parents, her good friend was Ida Frandsen .  She travelled with her to Samoa to marry
Hans D Wulf.  When Elise died. Hans wrote to Ida for them to join their families together.  Elise probably was of Jewish descent but can’t verify her parents or where she was from.  Would appreciate help here.  One of her children marries the nephew of her good friend Ida.  August Frandsen in Detroit, Wayne Michigan

The james you saw is ours.  He is my husbands grandfather.  His grandmother was Sophie wulf.  Family talk was that brother william was a mariner and went to fiji but i couldnt find anything on him there.  Now i found samuel in 1871 with his parents, must have been visiting but i see his son would have been 2 then.  So i will look for his wife.  Thanks for your find.  I couldnt find that one.  I had seen it years ago but had to find things for others.  Now im back to my direct families.  Cheers

I came to west macclesfield and visited and took photos of the houses which had been occupiedby the family.  Only one wasnt there.  I had rung all the merediths in the phonebook before we went but none were connected to William and Elizabeth.  I have a letter from elizabeth and harriet to their
Brother in patterson, new jersey.  Sadly no connection here with living relTives.  I will not be able to make another trip here unfortunately.  However i went to the library there and found franks picture on the wall, and excitedly spoke to the librarian who communicated with me, the story with the photo.  I havent been back here since 2014 but now you are here i will keep in touch. trudym

Hi looking for 2014 descendants of this family. William was born in 1857, son of John Meredith and Sarah Bates.  He had several other siblings but he was the only one to stay in Macclesfield. in 1881 census he was staying in Ryle street, with his inlaws.

His children were many but several died very young
William Henry b 1886
Lillian 1890 married Wilfred Barton in St Johns, Macclesfield
Frank b 1894 (not sure if this is the same frank mentioned on the monument for war veterans)
Frederick 1896
Sarah 1881 marrried James Hyde.

Would appreciate any updates on their children, grandchildren,

Am visiting Macclesfield in July 2014 and would welcome help in where to research as will only be in Liverpool area for 3 days.

Thank you all

Hi Yes thomas was born in 1841 and James in 1857.  Thomas had two wives Maria Miller Coe, daughter of Jonas Coe and Leutu, and yes his second wife was his housekeeper That is correct.  Send me your email on personal message and I will direct you to further information.

Kind regards
Trudy
