Regarding CD that won't run in Windows 7; have you tried using the compatibility mode? See this page for more detail:
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/316-compatibility-mode.html

Failing that, if you have Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate versions, you can install Windows 7 XP-mode. A hefty download, but works a dream... Google Windows 7 XP-mode.

Parently I am told that if you have Windows 7 "Professional" or better, you can download an "Windows XP Mode", after installing this, you open this XP Mode and can install programs that were designed to run under Windows XP, such as FTM 2006.

it kinda provides an Windows XP environment.

I have just wiped my PC and had Windows 7 installed. :D

Of course I have a copy of all my data files.

On my old system (Win-Vista) I had FTM2006 installed.
Last year I also installed FTM2010
I continued to refer sometimes to FTM2006, as in FTM2010 I sometimes could not find what I wanted. >:( >:(

I wanted to set the same thing up on my Windows 7 setup, but when I copied my data files, I forgot to note which file was being used by which version of FTM.  :-[

So my Question is:
Can a file saved by Family Tree Maker 2010, be fully read by FTM2006?  ???

Any advice on my question, from a guru, would be welcome.

Thanks in advance

Surname was BENTLEY, Catherine was born Lenham, Kent from memory. Found the FEAKINS family in 1861 where Catherine was was born Lenham.

Well my Great Great Great Grandmother was Charlotte Feakins b1802 in Lenham, Kent, England - Also recorded in some censuses as "Little Chart".

Possibly your relatives Aunt?  Though this is just an idea.  Let me know is any interest or relavence.

Ok. thanks for the information.
I didn't know if he was cremated or buried, but with your info it would seem likely that I'm probably looking for a burial; same request for help in locating him still applies... Can anyone tell me some pointers?

I am floundering and wonder if anyone can assist me to find the final resting place of my Grandfather; I have his death certifcate which shows:

Death registered 1941 Surrey-North-Eastern, sub district Surbiton & Esher in the County of Surrey.
No: 469
Died 22 November 1941 aged about 73, at 3 Parklands, Surbiton, UD.
Name: William Henry Atkins

Sex: Male
Age: 73
Occupation: of 1 Clarence Street, Kingston. Resturanteur.
Death Registered by: Ivy Ray Atkins, Widow of Deceased, of 1 Clarence Street, Kingston.
I believe he was a methodist like his parents, though whether he practised the religion I know not.

Although my grandmother died in 1992 in Sussex, I can remember going to her cremation at a crematorium just SW of London possibly Roehampton and thus thought maybe she wanted to be laid to rest near or with her husband, but this is just a guess.

Any assistance gladly received.

They were living in Hackney and before that Walthamstow since 1900 at least, so Holborn has never really featured.
