Let's look to see what we can find

Wishing us luck to find a match.

Hello All

Indeed I did get a notification.

Gosh I've not looked at Roots hat for so long. I must get back into it 😉

I've struggled to work out if there is a connection between Claudine Rose Latour and my tree. I want to hope so but like you DNichol it's just not jumping out at me.

However I was in touch on Ancestry with another descendant of Jean Pierre Latour who like my mum had done a DNA test. Unfortunately there didn't seem to be any level of match which made us conclude they were separate Latour families or not as closely related as we thought. Mind you my understanding of DNA matching is not that good.

I'd love for there to be more records to help us out. Perhaps we will have more info one day.

Please give me a shout out if you ever get more info. Use this thread as it would be interesting for everyone to hear.

Hello

I know I am very late to the table.

I think I am researching the same line in Slindon and had hit a brickwall with COLLICK. However, I have found Susan CHOLICK bap 23 Feb 1743 at Walberton, Sussex, to John and Susan. Walberton is just 2.5 miles from Slindon and 4 miles from Madehurst.

I am quite convinced by this baptism, as Susannah APPS burial record Slindon in 1813 says she is aged 70 making her birth 1743.

The next brick wall for me is now who is John COLLICK CHOLICK and his wife Susan.

Best wishes

Hello Lanod

Thanks for your reply.

Since my original post evidence seems to indicate that the 1830/31 Will administered by Major William Pattle is probably that of William Milne, Beebee Burnoo's partner, and father of their children. William Milne must die some time between 1825 and 1830.

It seems that Beebee Burnoo then has a liaison with an Alexander MacDonald with whom he has 2 children Mary Anne MacDonald (born 1828) and Alexander George MacDonald (1830-1873). Alexander MacDonald died in 1833 and his will and legitimizes his children with Beebee Burnoo. He states that his wife Mary has returned to England and Alexander leaves everything including his property to Beebee Burnoo.

Hope this is of interest.

So I have had my mum take a DNA test and she is getting a very large number of hits to other people with family connections to the Alsace, (Bas-Rhin, Haut-Rhin, Lorraine, Moselle) France, Switzerland and just over the boarder in Germany (Baden Wurttemberg, Rhineland-Palatinate) between about 1600-1800. Finding this very interesting!!

Hi

This is very interesting than you. I have done a DNA test and I'm trying to match up to other trees. Elizabeth Bell is a contender as she appears in a tree that I am matched to, so interested in tracing her and her family.

I have confirmed family in Warkworth and immediate area south (Morwick Hall) - mainly Gacscoigne/Gaskin, but also Morrison, Scott.

The BBC will be showing the last program in series 12 of "Who Do You Think You Are?" on 15 Oct 2015 about Frances De La Tour.

No idea which of her lines they will be following but could be very interesting.

Hi Hannah

This is the link to some of the Calcutta records. It is only has limited dates which is a real shame. I hope that some other records come to light at some point in the future.

Thanks all for your replies - sorry for delay in responding - seem to have been logged out and didn't get notified of your interest!

Yes lots of confusion on spellings, but I'm fairly certain Christiana Agnes is a Latour daughter of Louis Latour.

At marriage of Christiana Agnes and John Milne her father is listed as Lowis Latour. Seems to be other variations but Latour is the name that has come down the family in subsequent generations.

I have bad some luck now in putting most of this tree together and it all looks to fit quite nicely. Just trying to trace further back but as is a frequent story I have hit the dreaded brick wall!

Thanks again.
